Water leakages from 15 kW trollies

Question: After putting my DYNAJET 350me trolly back into operation after a prolonged period of non-use, water is leaking from the pump head. What can I do?

Answered by our Service Manager:

If the machine is put into operation again after a short “winter break” in the cold season, you may find that water leaks from the head of the high-pressure pump.

This is frequently caused by the high-pressure seals drying out, normally due to two factors:

  • No antifreeze or too little antifreeze has been used.
  • The system no longer has any residual moisture, i.e. it has completely dried out.

There’s a simple solution in both cases:

Start your machine and let it run in standby/bypass operation (without activating the gun) for approx. 20 minutes. During this time, the seals will swell, possible sealing the pump head at the same time.

If this isn’t successful, new seals must be installed.

To prevent this problem from occurring again in the future, the machine should always be made winterproof, i.e. it should be filled with antifreeze and the water drained from the hoses and gun.
