High-quality pressure washer accessories – such as hose connectors – are usually made of stainless steel. The stainless steel hose connection must be greased with the correct lubricant to counteract the cold welding effect.
Which lubricant should I use to grease the hose connection of my DYNAJET high-pressure cleaner?
You should use only anti-seize assembly paste (hot screw compound). This will counteract cold welding in the long term. It is effective even at high-pressure and high friction and minimises costs of replacing threads and screw connections.
Always use anti-seize assembly paste to prevent stainless steel becoming welded to other stainless steel parts – this is irreversible.
The chromium content of stainless steels creates a smooth surface and, when combined with oxygen and water, forms a protective chromium oxide layer, also called passive layer, which protects the metal against corrosion. This passive layer is post-treated with anti-seize to produce a fluoropolymer-based dry lubrication.
